KANDEP SETS UP PROCUREMENT COMMITTEE

KANDEP DISTRICT PROCUREMENT COMMITTEE SWORN IN

Kandep District in Enga Province today (Tuesday) appointed and sworn in its district procurement committee members in Port Moresby at the National Procurement Commission head office.

Polye with the procurement committee members and, NPC officials and others during the swearing-in today in Port Moresby.

That means Kandep District Procurement Committee can award contracts or projects valued K2.5 million from its  DSIP funds.https://pngsun.com/2021/06/30/don-polye-given-heros-welcome/

That is to build roads and bridges, and deliver other essential services in the district.

COMPLIANCE TO GOOD GOVERNANCE AND RULE OF LAW

Kandep MP, Don Pomb Polye said he had legacy of upholding compliance to good governance, rule of law and forgiving one and other with love and compassion. He was speaking during the swearing-in occasion.

He was present to witness the occasion.

This committee, he said, is no different as it is part of its leadership.

The committee, he said, has only four months to deliver services to the people before the next elections,

Mr Polye said the establishment of the committee would not only ensure they address governance issues. 

Further, he said contractors delivered works to high standards and with value for money.

He said they flew committee members  in from the electorate at the request of the NPC.

Furthermore, he said NPC officials could not return to Enga for this.

He stated he was happy to be back to continue his unfinished works during the balance of his tenure in office.

In a media statement, Polye commended NPC for setting the first-of-its-kind committee to represent them on the ground.

The establishment of this committee, he said, will address legal and governance issues in the procurement and service delivery, he said.

PROJECT ANNOUCEMENTS

Meanwhile, Polye announced that health, education, economic stimulus package and roads would continue to be on his priority list.

Wage LLG, he said, will have its new High School to reduce pressure from increased enrollment of students at Kandep High School.

He said they would work with the Provincial Government to upgrade Kandep High to secondary status.
