BY-PRODUCT OF SATAN: PERPETRATORS TOLD

PNG Police Minister, William Gogl Onglo has described perpetrators of gender-based violence (GBV) and sorcery accusation related violence (SARV) as ‘by-product of Satan.’

“They are by-product of Satan. They cannot live within our community. So evil. They are not human. We cannot say animals. Animals are good creatures that we can tame and appreciate. They cannot live within our means,” an angry Minister Onglo told a media conference.

Police Minister Onglo assured women folk that the culprits would be held accountable.

He was speaking today at Police Headquarters in Port Moresby’s Konedobu during a cheque presentation by NCD Governor, Powes Parkop.

Upon request from the Police Minister on a Government MPs’ WhatsApp Group, Governor Parkop, a human rights champion, immediately went to the rescue of cash-strapped Police Department with K50,000.

Minister Onglo sought funding assistance from fellow MPs due to road accessibility challenges in discharging police duties to have the perpetrators arrested and charged.

The funding will help police in Enga and Southern Highlands Provinces with logistics, especially chopper, to carry out their operations to arrest perpetrators of two SARV incidents occurred in Sirunki and Kagua-Erave.

In those incidents, three were rescued by police whilst the other two were beaten to death.
