Minister Mirisim was scheduled to meet the staff on Friday 14th; unfortunately he was part of the government delegates who accompanied PNG Prime Minister and Tari Pori MP, Honorable James Marape to Hela Province.

Minister Mirisim in a media statement said he was delighted to meet the staff, management and the board of the National Forest Authority.

He said he will continue to drive the key agendas of the Marape-Basil government in the Forest sector.

“I look forward to working with the staff, management and the board of National Forests Authority to carry on from where my predecessor has left,” he said.

Minister Mirisim also thanked the former Minister and Namatanai MP Hon Walter Schnaubelt for providing strong leadership in the ministry for the past 12 months.

He said he would continue the good work of the former Minister in working closely with the board and management of PNGFA in the remaining few months before the National General Elections.

He further thanked Prime Minister James Marape and his Cabinet for reappointing him back as the Forest Minister.
