CITY CLINICS, HOSPITALS BUILD CAPACITY FOR COVID-19 RAPID TEST

Tokarara Urban Clinic is taking steps much closer to equip itself fully to start rolling out rapid testing for Coronavirus.

The clinic is located in Moresby Northwest electorate.

As such, the clinic management did not waste any time to do the setups.

Additionally, the personal protective equipment presented by NCD Governor Hon. Powes Parkop boosted its preparedness.

“The clinic is one of the six health facilities nominated for the testing rollout,” said Governor Parkop.

“It is part of NCD COVID-19 TASKFORCE’s Health Response Plan.”

“Others include Gerehu General Hospital, Kaugere Hospital, Lawes Road Clinic, Gordons  Clinic and 9-Mile Clinic.”

“We expecting donations of rapid testing kits from China, the USA and Japan. We already arranged their transportation with Air Niugini.”

“Therefore, building the capacity of these nominated hospitals and clinics was a work in phases.”
