Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape and, his Police and Health Ministers are amongst 125 sample tests returned Covid-19 negative.
PM Marape announced today in a media release that the samples taken last Thursday had returned COVID-19 negative.
The test was prompted when an official who works at the National Operations Centre for Covid-19 response, was tested Coronavirus positive then.
“The 125 samples collected included 1 sample from the Manus Province, 3 samples from Gulf and 121 from NCD.”
“An additional 12 samples taken from East New Britain also returned negative.
“Over 300 samples collected on Friday including results of five members of the family of the first NCD case will be sent to Brisbane today for testing.”
“I am appealing to the NCD residents and the entire country to remain calm and stay at home.
“Thus, this will allow the Joint Agency Task Force (JATF) to keep contact tracing.”
“I commend the SOE Controller for initiating the immediate lockdown of the Morauta Haus.
“The lockdown made possible contact tracing of more than 300 staff. They work on a rotational basis at the National Operations Centre.”
“Samples have also been collected from her family and sent down to Brisbane for testing,
“Oher samples of persons of interest who work at the Morauta Haus were sent as well.”
“Continue seriously practicing the following prevention health messages.”
