PARKOP WIDENS LEADING MARGIN IN NCD REGIONAL RACE
The incumbent Governor for National Capital District (NCD) has widened his leading margin by 3,282 primary votes following the conclusion of count 108 at midday today (Sunday).
Governor Parkop is maintaining his lead with 10,062 votes whilst former NCD Governor and People’s Labour Party candidate Wari Vele is on the second spot with 6,772 votes.
On third is independent candidate Andy Bawa with 5,554 votes. With 3,603 votes, the independent candidate Felix Gitai moved two spots up to the fourth place, pushing Melanesian Alliance Party candidate, Michael Kandiu who is on 3,473 votes and PRP’s Paul Kandera Hitamoore back to the fifth and sixth spots respectively.
The counting of ballots for Moresby South is nearing completion.
Provincial Returning Officer, Kila Ralai said he was determined to complete all the counts for NCD seats by Wednesday and winners are declared on time.
